Feedback thread

Postby Charles Danforth on Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:25 am

I'm starting this as a place for beta-testers (and others) to give feedback on features we'd like to see, issues we may be having, etc.

To start things off, I have a suggestion: it might be handy to have a gear-related forum. I know running isn't as gear-intensive as climbing, but there are still occasional questions about shoes, gaitors, packs, etc. Maybe one for medical and training-related questions as well since that seems to make up a lot of the BTR email list traffic.

Oh yeah, good idea. I thought of a medical one last night, but it was 1am and I needed to go to bed.

Should it be under an existing category or under a new heading?

Maybe:

Running Related -> Training, Injuries, and Rehab
Running Related -> Gear and Equipment

I think I'm going to consolidate "rooms for rent" and "classifieds" unless anyone objects.
I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center.

I was also thinking of maybe lumping upcoming races and race reports into the same category. Over on that other list with the initials BS, there are trip planning and trip report fora and, more often than not, the trip reports get posted as followups to the trip planning posts.

Not a bad idea. I'm one of those people who favors "less clutter" in forums. The more forums there are, the more stuff I have to check through to find new posts.

Dunno if it can be changed/fixed, but the img tag seems to be very inconsistent in what it does. On my screen the photos in the BTR cover page thread are in all sorts of formats. One is wider than the message window, another has a nice scroll bar sideways, and my image was simply cropped(can't scroll).
Dunno if that can be altered, or if that's simply user error.

It has to do w/ the page formatting and the maximum allowed image size. I'll have to mess with it.

I'm only grabbing the photos from here and moving them though... they will all be displayed together on a separate page soon.
